In partnership with the Ceramics program at SUNY New Paltz, Historic Huguenot Street is pleased to present "Insight On Site," an exhibition of works by undergraduate and graduate students, guided by Professors Bryan Czibesz and Anat Shiftan.
Inspired by the history, structures, and collections of Historic Huguenot Street, students’ works will be displayed throughout the 10-acre National Historic Landmark District, with select pieces available to view in the replica Esopus Munsee wigwam, Deyo House, Jean Hasbrouck House, and the reconstructed 1717 Crispell Memorial French Church.
Student artists will be present from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 20th to speak about their pieces, their inspiration, and the artistic process.
“Insight On Site” features work by: Althea Llewellyn, Alyssa Speigl, Avery Wells, Chelsea Herzig, Cynthia Walker, Drake Gallo, Elana Sklar, Erika Port, Funlola Coker, Gwyneth Medea, Hailey Meyer, Ibrahim Khazzaka, Ike Lobel, Julia Berkowitz, Kayla Boyle, Mo Brady, Olivia Rose, Ruby Minsky, Sarah Boudinot, Schuyler Forsythe, Taussen Brewer, Victoria Bogdanski.
Pre-registration is required. All registrants must check-in at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center (81 Huguenot Street) upon their arrival, where they will receive a wristband.
HHS does not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend “Insight On Site.” Appropriate face covering is required both indoors and outdoors while attending this on site exhibition.
No more than 8 attendees will be allowed to view works exhibited inside of the historic houses at one time. HHS staff and volunteers will be monitoring the number of guests in each house. Please wait to enter a building until you have been explicitly told that it is safe to do so by an HHS representative.
Participants’ experience with the exhibition is meant to be self-guided. Registrants are invited to arrive anytime between 2:00 – 3:30 PM to begin their experience. Please note, that the historic houses will close to the public promptly at 4:00 PM, regardless of whether or not exhibition attendees have had a chance to see each piece on view. Please give yourself enough time to experience the exhibition in its entirety.
