"Winter Woods Walk" with Wild Hudson Valley's Justin Wexler

  • Historic Huguenot Street 81 Huguenot St New Paltz, NY, 12561 United States (map)

Join ethnoecologist Justin Wexler for the first of this year's seasonal explorations of the Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary. On these walks, we explore the natural world through the lens of Northeastern native languages, history, and folklore. Learn how to interpret animal tracks and signs, identify winter plants, and hear stories that date back thousands of years.

Check-in is at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center. The program will begin at the replica Esopus Munsee wigwam and will guide visitors up Huguenot Street, through the Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary.
